SAME Café is a revolutionary concept that starts with a simple idea—high quality food should be available to anyone and everyone.  But while the idea is simple, the effects are profound.

Imagine an empowered community where people of all backgrounds, regardless of income level or socioeconomic status, can join together for a high quality, organic meal.  A service oriented dining space where volunteers work alongside patrons…where anyone is welcome, no matter how much money they have.  Where All may eat great food.

The Café has been in business for nearly FIVE years and in that time has served over 60,000 meals to the less fortunate.  Because the SAME Café is so engrained as a part of its Colfax Ave. neighborhood, it requires the help of not only that community, but the greater community of Denver as a whole.  Although 95% of the Café’s customers pay in some form, either by donation or through volunteering at the restaurant, raising funds is a constant challenge.  The annual Ante Up Poker Tournament is one way that we are attempting to bring more awareness to the Café and more dollars to help it fulfill its mission of working to eradicate hunger in a more just and equitable way.
